The Shell LiveWIRE Brunei Business Awards aims to recognize and reward outstanding entrepreneurs in Brunei Darussalam who demonstrate excellence in business innovation and operations. This initiative supports promising businesses through structured mentorship, industry exposure, and opportunities to showcase their ventures.

This year marks the 18th edition of the Shell LiveWIRE Brunei Business Awards, continuing our long-standing commitment to celebrating entrepreneurial success and impact.

Our Categories

For 2025, the awards will celebrate entrepreneurs in two (2) categories.

A registered business entity which has been operating for not more than 5 years, and has a business model designed to be highly scalable, usually by leveraging on technology to create innovative products and/or services.

Eligibility

Must be a registered business operating for no more than five (5) years.
Aims to scale its operations quickly.
Leverages technology to develop and deliver innovative products or services.
Prioritizes rapid and sustainable growth.
Past winners are NOT eligible

REACH Pitch Day graduates with an innovative, tech-based solutions and a working prototype or service, who show plans to register their business after the award.

Eligibility

Must be a graduate of REACH Pitch Day
Must have a working prototype or service that uses technology for innovation.
Must show plans to register a business after the awards (e.g., provide a timeline or action plan).
Customer validation is encouraged (e.g., pilot testing or user feedback).
Past winners are NOT eligible

Who can apply for the Shell LiveWire Business Awards?

Anyone who is:

1. Running a registered startup for not more than 5 years and has a business model designed to be highly scalable, usually by leveraging on technology to create innovative products and/or services.

2. Graduate of REACH programme with innovative, tech-based solutions and a working prototype or service, who show plans to register their business after the award.

Do I need to be a REACH graduate to apply?

This criterion is only applicable for participants that will be applying for the Higher Institutions Category . Participants that are not part of the REACH Pitch Day are NOT eligible to participate.

What qualifies as a “tech-driven” business or having tech-based solutions?

If your business relies on technology to operate, deliver your product or service, or grow, then it is considered tech driven. This includes digital platforms, mobile apps, software tools or systems, automation (e.g. auto-reminders, smart tracking), or tech-based services/products.

I have an idea but no prototype yet. Can I still apply?

No. Both categories MUST have a working prototype/service to be eligible for the Shell LiveWire Business Awards.

For the Higher Institutions Category, if you don’t have one yet, we recommend joining our future programmes like LiveWire Early Stage.

Is it compulsory to upload a pitch video?

Yes, it is compulsory to upload a pitch video as this is part of the registration process.

Can my pitch video be longer than the requested duration?

No. Please stay within 60-seconds video. Clips beyond the 60-seconds duration will be considered void.

Is it compulsory to submit my business plan?

Yes. You need to submit your current business plan for us to evaluate your core business before being shortlisted to the next phase.

Do I have to be registered with ROCBN to apply?

- Yes, for the Startup Category.
- No, for the Higher Institutions Category, but you must show intent to register your business if awarded.

Can I submit more than one (1) entry form?

You can only submit one (1) entry form for a company in one category.

What are the prizes or benefits of joining?

Awardees may receive:
- Cash prize to support business development
- Continued mentorship and business advisory support
- Public recognition and visibility
- Access to Shell LiveWire’s global network

How many winners will there be?

There will be 3 winners selected for each category.

When is the deadline to apply?

Applications close on 30 June 2025.
